Puzzle 151 – “Say My Name, Say My Name”
puz here / pdf here / solution here
We all know the comedy rule of three, right? Here it is in action for yall this week.
This one gets a touch silly (and that’s not a crime). It was inspired by an egregious error I made in the Friday night Connections game at ACPT, followed by conversation about it with midi-puzzle-master Brian Callahan. The first two theme entries across won’t be familiar to all (though you’ll soon realize there’s a little built-in help to completing them); the third should be. Either way, some of the across entries may lean a little tough, while the downs are clued a little more gently to help it all come together.
Favorite clue: 52-Across. You had to ask?
Happy solving, yall. Comments welcomed, as ever. Hope you enjoy.
Fun puzzle, Matt. And au contraire regarding the familiarity of those entries – my brother wrote his college thesis on 35A so I filled that in automatically!
Yeah, I’ve read him too! I just hate to assume.
(Though I am assuming familiarity with 52-A for sure…)
Another good puzzle that had three interesting names!
Particularly the third, amirite?
