PUZZLE 237

Puzzle 237 – “Respect for the Classics”

puz here / pdf here / solution here

It’s been a little while since I’ve put a themeless here that was *truly* heavy on the music and pop-cultural material. If you’ve been hoping to see that sort of thing return, then today’s your lucky day.

Been working on the question-mark clues, and this grid has two that I really like.

As always, comments are welcomed. Hope you enjoy. Happy Christmas, and happy solving, yall.

  1. Fabulous, as usual. And fill that’s right up my alley. 15A and 55A are terrific clues. Love seeing 25A make an appearance. The end credit sequence of the first GoG, featuring a literal offshoot of 25A, is joy-inducing favorite. Interested to see that you’re not using Amuse Labs to embed today’s puzzle…

  2. Wow Matthew, this might be my most favorite puzzle of yours! And I always enjoy the retro puzzles that take me back to the 1960s thru 1990s!

And I want to Thank You for publishing the highest quality crosswords that I’ve ever done, and I hope that you, your family, and your friends all have a wonderful holiday season!

  3. Great puzzle, as always! Loved the play between 20A/29D and 10D/18A. 26A and 47A both brought big smiles to my face…thanks for some great vibes heading into Christmas.

Going to take me a minute to get used to the new platform.

  4. good one thanks
