PUZZLE 236

Puzzle 236 – “Chaos and Order”

puz here / pdf here / solution here

This week’s blog puzzle here is a themeless… but if you want more themeless fun, check out this Sunday’s Universal, coming up on the 21st. That one’s by me, and you can find it on their site or at GoComics. Please enjoy!

So, on some level, every crossword is a back-and-forth between chaos and order, but the longer entries in this themeless–especially the pairing of 16-Across and 65-Across (the seed entry for this one)–get at that contrast a bit more directly. Lots of music in this grid, too. You probably know 25-Down, but if you’re unfamiliar with 2-Down (spoilers at links), treat yourself.

As always, comments welcomed, yall. Hope you enjoy. Happy solving, friends.

  1. good one thanks!

  2. You mentioned my absolute favorite 34A commercial! Love it… and I can’t say I knew the definition of 30D until I read it today – thanks!
