Puzzle 27 – “Yes. No? Yes!”

puz here / pdf here / solution here

I like this grid. Best adjective I have for it, given its particular arrangement of black squares: Tetris-y. Results in 3 long across entries and 3 long down entries, 4 of which are 15-letter grid-spanners. Seed entry was 23-Across (director of my favorite movie), and fitting 7-Down (your title is a clue) in with big long horizontal entries told me the Tetris-y grid would work. Favorite clues here are ones where I tried to clue familiar (maybe overly familiar) entries in offbeat ways: hence 17-Across, 30-Down, and 31-Down. As always, happy solving, comments welcome. Hope you enjoy, friends.
