PUZZLE 269

Puzzle 269 – “Time to Pretend”

puz here / pdf here / solution here / full screen here

I’ve got an eventful week: this Wednesday, I’ve got the USA Today puzzle (their site or GoComics); on Friday, I’ve got a mini puzzle over at Bonmo (formerly Crossword Flow, for you iPad solvers); and on Saturday, I have a very silly midi over at Puzzmo, a collaboration with my pal Brian Callahan that we’re both excited to see get out into the world.

And today on the blog… time to pretend, as encouraged by both 21-Across and 21-Down (the latter of which has to be my favorite clue here).

My new school year starts up this week, which has me thankful that one thing I did this summer is build a bit of a back catalog of (mostly) themeless puzzles that I look forward to posting here, since I’m sure things will get busier sooner than later.

Until then, hope you enjoy this one. Comments welcomed here, as always. Happy solving, yall.

  1. Enjoyed this. Great set of 8 10-letter entries. Had never heard of a 55-A before. If you have time and interest, I posted a new kind of variety puzzle (Consonant Companion) on my site yesterday. Would be interested to hear your thoughts. Best wishes for a good start to yet another school year.

  2. Congrats to you Matthew for using your summer-time hiatus to create more very good puzzles!

  3. Good one! thanks!
