Puzzle 103 – “It’s Elemental”

The school year has just ended here (#summermode, yall)… so here’s a puzzle made for the school year. It says a lot about my workplace that our equivalent of a field day doesn’t just include kickball and dodgeball and such, but also things like speed chess and, this year, a crossword competition. I constructed this puzzle for that event and watched a team of sophomores slowly and methodically crush it (to the mild chagrin of the junior and senior teams).
The theme is straightforward, if a touch unexciting, and it’s clued a touch easier than most on this site. Still, it was fun to share this weird thing that I do with students. Favorite clue: 62-Across, no doubt, with 49-Down a close second.
