Puzzle 70 – “Nothing to Do? Nowhere to Go?”
puz here / pdf here / solution here
After a themed puzzle last week, we’re back to the usual fare here: a themeless puzzle with four intersecting grid-spanners.
Favorite clues here: 27-Down for mild misdirection. Same for 38-Down. This one feels a little trivia- and fun-fact-heavy, but that’s the norm here, I guess.
And look, let’s address 17-Across. I’m a proud alumnus of Millsaps College, and I say all publicity is good publicity, okay?
Hope you enjoy, as always. Comments welcomed. Happy solving, yall.
overall great. as a local, love the millsaps call out. hate jell. I always appreciate learning some things in a puzzle. I didnt know habanero was a caribbean capital. never heard of a haboob.
Named for Havana, I learned while researching that clue.
Haha, I remember wanting to put 6-Down in a themeless that would run on Dec. 30, 2020 😉
Something about that clue just pleases me a lot, clearly, lol.
Thanks for the clue about the Trinity football team and the 15 laterals. I viewed the video on YouTube and it’s incredible!
Incredible is one (slightly euphemistic, very kind) word for it!
