Puzzle 219 – “Staying on the Move”
puz here / pdf here / solution here
Sometimes one clue is the start of a grid coming together. Out of nowhere, the 1-Across clue came to me. So it became a seed entry, a grid pattern developed around it, and next thing you know, here we are—a new themeless.
Favorite clue: 45-Across, no doubt.
Puzzles elsewhere: this past Sunday, a midi at Crossword Flow, for the iPad solvers. More to come soon!
As always, yall, happy solving. Hope you enjoy. Comments welcomed, as always.
I always love it when the clues I’m about to comment on turn out to be the ones you mention in your own comments! Yes, 1-A and 45-A, so good. And of course, the whole thing is good, as always.
You’re too kind. Thanks so much!
Fantastic, as usual! Smiled at 21-A, a favorite book and movie of my childhood. And loved 45-A and 50-A as well.
I was *so* confused by 21-A as a kid. Why so many?!
good one! thanks!
Thank you for being a friend of the blog.
That 50A clue was so much fun! Love having to do a little extra work, especially when there’s a smile at the end. Also, a big fan of We Belong – especially the version done by the original songwriters, Lowen & Navarro!
Oh dang this is news to me… will have to go check out the original.
Agree on 50A – fun clue! Never knew 30D could be plural in that manner…always thought it was invariable (or whatever the correct grammar wonk term is for being the same singular and plural). As always, a fun puzzle and love learning new things!
Yeah, 30-D is not the greatest entry in plural form, I admit. But I liked getting self-referential with that 50-A, indeed.
