Puzzle 133 – “Grand Openings”

Even though it still feels a few days early to be talking about New Year’s, here we are at this site’s last puzzle of 2023… and with a title, inspired by this one’s seed entry at 25-Across, that’s the exact opposite of an ending. Go figure.
25-Across isn’t my favorite clue here, though… that’s probably 52-Across. And I do love the 6-Across / 11-Across pairing.
I hope everyone’s having a pleasant holiday week as the year winds down. (Christmas here has been unusually low-key but nice.) Next time I post here, it’ll be 2024, and I’ll keep the puzzles coming throughout the year to come. Every Tuesday. You know where to find ’em.

Another good puzzle and I liked the Miami Vice and John Waite references!
But maybe the clue for 61A needs to read “See 18-Across”?
This is like the third time I’ve made the same mistake here with cross-referenced clues!
