It will come as no surprise to anyone who knows me well that 1-Across was the seed entry for this themeless puzzle. It is one of my very favorite things (and the source of this puzzle’s title), and if you’re not familiar, I invite you to check it out.
I dig this grid a lot, particularly the quite open center.
