PUZZLE 164

Puzzle 164 – “Rhythm and Melody”

puz here / pdf here / solution here

Hey solvers. Keeping it themeless again this week.

Seed entries for this one were the long acrosses, 27-Across and 44-Across. Title refers to 27-Across and 15-Across primarily. Favorite clue: probably 58-Across, which is a pretty basic entry-level question mark clue, can’t help but feel. I do like how the long vertical pairs came together.

While we’re at it, both elements of the 15-Across clue are highly recommended. Look ’em up.

Happy solving, yall. Comments welcomed, as ever. Hope you enjoy.

  1. Another great one! Don’t know why, but I loved the clue for 29D. I got 4D confused -RADIO vs -MEDIA, which tripped me up for a few seconds, but easily straightened out. Thanks!

  2. Wow I hadn’t thought about 27A in so long! Had to sing my way through the lyrics to even get to the title. I LOVED that song! Thanks for the reminder. I also very much enjoyed your clue for 58A. Another great Luter puzz.

  3. I have a tendency to think that 15As will be too much work to read, but I’m not really sure why — Anne Carson’s ‘Autobiography of Red’ is one of my favourite books of all time. I seem to have library access to the two in your clue, so I plan to check them out. thanks for the recommendations! (and thanks for the rest of the puzzle too!)

  4. Good one thanks!
