Puzzle 13 – “Rhyme Is Reason”

Non-standard grid shape again: 15 wide, 19 tall. Another music-centered theme (and as both a confession and a clue, I have to say… I’m way bummed that I couldn’t get Scritti Politti into this grid, yall). Lots of 3-letter words here, so I also took it as an exercise in trying to do some more original clues for less-than-original fill entries (see 63-Across, 2-Down, 22-Down). I really like doing your puzzles because they are so original and always contain something unique, such as 13D “Ashtray for trash”. That cracked me up because it’s the first time I’ve seen pig latin in a crossword. Great stuff, Matthew!

The bilateral symmetry of this grid is incredibly pleasing to my OCD. Great clues!
I play around with the left-right symmetry sometimes, and it often does wind up looking pretty satisfying, it’s true.
